Michaël Zingraf : Between heritage and the future
For almost half a century, Michaël Zingraf has witnessed the evolution of the prestige property market without ever losing sight of what he sees as truly significant behind a transaction : trust.
At the helm of a group which now covers top-notch destinations both French and international, this entrepreneur based in Cannes continues to uphold a deeply human vision of his task. At a time when success stories are written at the speed of algorithms, Michaël Zingraf upholds a different temporality. That of consistency, work well done, and loyalty to the values that have drawn its path. An exceptional trajectory, which now encompasses over 48 years of activity and has enabled the founder to build one of the most widely recognised networks in high-end real estate. Today, the Michael Zingraf Real Estate group consists of 20 directly-operated agencies, 16 of which are affiliated to Christie’s International Real Estate, covering the most highly-prized markets in Provence and on the Côte d’Azur. They are joined by 4 non-affiliated offices in Paris, Deauville, Biarritz and Gstaad, and 3 licensed agencies in Megève, Arcachon-Pyla, and on the island of Mauritius. An organization with over 80 direct team members, pursuing its development with the same high demands for quality. While the enterprise has clearly grown, its founder remains deeply attached to the fundamental values that inspired its beginnings. In his opinion, the keys to its long life can be summed up as “Real fondness for the work involved, a desire to succeed, and a very serious approach”. He also enthusiastically recalls the presence of his son Heathcliff by his side, fully committed to the family adventure.
Based in Cannes from Day 1, Michaël Zingraf has enjoyed a privileged view of the evolution of the market on the French Riviera. Following a period of adjustment after post-pandemic euphoria, he has observed a clear up-turn since 2025, particularly noticeable on the ultra-luxury segment of the market. Sales exceeding 30 M€ bear witness to the return of an international clientele, still enamoured with the Mediterranean coast, from St-Tropez to St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, via Cannes, Cap d’Antibes or Sainte-Maxime. In parallel, French buyers still appreciate more residential areas in the back-country, and the authentic charm of the Luberon.
In the digital era, Michaël Zingraf remains convinced that technology will never replace human relationships. Digital tools make contacts faster, but the acquisition of a property remains, above all, an adventure comprised of encounters. A conviction that he passes on to his teams. As for the future, it is viewed by Michaël Zingraf with the same pragmatism. The network’s development will involve, for example, new trademark licenses, resulting from opportunities and encounters. Deep down, his philosophy has never changed : in prestige real estate, as in all lasting enterprises, it is, above all, men and women who make all the difference. n
