Florent Borrego, manager of the Barnes Agency, Cannes

For almost a year, Florent Borrego, backed by 10 years in luxury real estate on the Côte d’Azur, has overseen developments for Barnes International Realty in Cannes. The agency is preparing to move, with inauguration of a new location a stone’s throw from the Palais des Festivals.

A surface area of 300 m² on three floors and an address both strategic and symbolic, whether for visibility or the promotion of related services ensuring 360° assistance for a French and international clientele.

In addition to expertise in high-end villas and apartments from Cannes to Cap d’Antibes, for sales and seasonal rentals, Barnes proposes complementary services for interior architecture, vineyards and haras, “viagers”, and a yachting department undergoing full expansion. It has also just acquired an airline, Barnes Ixair, to provide transport for its affluent clients. The Cannes-Cap d’Antibes agency has about ten members in its team.

“In the pipeline, a wealth of projects such as renovation work being carried out by the Municipality on Place des Libertés, and the new pedestrian zone on Rue Félix Faure with its bars and restaurants. A location here keeps us a step in advance,” says Florent Borrego. Before citing the attributes of Barnes : a French and international clientele, 25 years of expertise, synergy in 60 destinations, 115 agencies in 20 countries.

Cannes is a highly-prized destination among both French and foreign buyers. They all appreciate the address, sublime views of the sea, the Lérins Islands and Estérel hills, and, of course, properties right at the water’s edge on Cap d’Antibes. The town is again lively year-round thanks to its many congresses, mild winters and colourful summers. Palatial hotels, gastronomic restaurants, luxury boutiques and sandy beaches compose the image and reality of the Festival City.

A property in perfect condition with a view of the sea, facing south-west, free of any nuisances, and in a prime location, sells on average within four weeks. Villas on the hills enjoy panoramic views, “Belle Epoque” properties in the town centre and apartments on the Croisette, in La Croix-des-Gardes and La Californie are as sought-after as ever. The 1 to 3.5 million euro price range is the most active, though the ultra-exclusive range from 15 million euros has its fans. Among the agency’s most recent sales, Florent Borrego mentions a “Belle Epoque” villa of 750 m² at the heart of La Californie with a guest and caretaker’s house, in grounds of 2,700 m², priced at 9,250,000 €.
