EMILE GARCIN IN MARSEILLE

Emile Garcin is known for its fondness for lovely large residences, “bastides”, “mas”, and exclusive apartments. Whether authentic or contemporary, their design and construction always offer exceptional character. New evidence to Emile Garcin’s positioning on the market, in the Phocean City...

When Pierre-Laurent Barneron left Paris for Marseille in 2019 after a career in journalism, he was looking for meaning and a professional activity corresponding to his interest in beautiful stone. He quite naturally turned his attention to the Emile Garcin family firm, as he knew both father and son.

The agency in Aix-en-Provence, where he was born, took him on. Almost five years then followed to learn about the sector and convince the Directors of the potential of the neighbouring city, a multifaceted capital of culture, the essential, centuries-old city of the Mediterranean. In September 2023, Emile Garcin Marseille opened its doors in the 8th arrondissement, proposing properties in the town’s most prestigious neighbourhoods, on the Côte Bleue, in Cassis, La Ciotat, Bandol and Sanary.

But also in the hinterland, in La Cadières-d’Azur, Le Castellet, Le Beausset, and Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, which faces both land and sea. Private mansions, large properties overlooking the Mediterranean, old or contemporary... A typical Provençal “mas” of 230 m2, recently renovated, with sea view, in almost 5 acres of grounds with olive-trees in Le Beausset, is worth 2,850,000 €. It drew the interest of personalities in show business, industrialists, French, Belgian, Swiss and American buyers in search of Provençal serenity.

On a private estate in Cassis, known for having hosted evenings and film shootings in the 1970’s and 1990’s, the former property of Robert Vigouroux is comprised of the main villa of 330 m2 and a guest cottage of 80 m2. They appreciate the 6th, 7th, 8th and 12th arrondissements, posting prices from 6,500 to 12,000 € per sq.m, with peaks regularly attaining 15,000 € per sq.m if they enjoy sea views. While the market was especially buoyant in the post-Covid period, clients are now fewer, though often well qualified with no credit requirements.
