Sotheby’s Paris Ouest International Realty

With four agencies and a team of 50, this group of agencies, created in 2009 by Frank Sylvaire and Paulo Fernandes, confirms its position as leader in the sector of high-end real estate in Paris and the Ile de France. It is backed by the powerful Sotheby’s, the N°1 network worldwide for prestige properties comprised of over 950 offices in 69 countries.

For our encounter, Frank Sylvaire and Paulo Fernandes welcomed us to the offices of their historic agency on the elegant Avenue Victor Hugo. Their tale began 20 years ago : working as partners, they developed a network of estate agencies. Then in 2009, a new page, a new departure, for this inseparable pair, who took up the challenge of developing together and as a family the Sotheby’s Realty Immobilier brand in Paris and the Ile de France. Ten years later, they can pride themselves on their success, resulting in the creation of four agencies. “We owe our success to our sense of unity, our family ties, our shared values which are honesty, transparency, efficiency, hard work and service. Values we have succeeded in sharing with our team members,” says Frank Sylvaire. Attached to the Sotheby’s network and its luxury image, their agencies present top-notch properties in Paris. To their credit, the sale of outstanding properties including several private mansions at prices between 14 and 35 million euros, but also penthouses and luxury apartments in the capital’s highly-prized neighbourhoods. With regard to the Parisian property market, Paulo Fernandes explains : “2018 was a record year for sales with an average price attaining 2.5 million euros in our agencies. 2019 has begun on a very strong footing, we are seeing the same impetus. Fine properties are still selling at high prices, though buyers are taking a more considered approach. Previously mostly foreign, our clientele is now comprised 70% of French nationals. Chinese clients are confirming their presence on the Parisian market, and the effect of Brexit has brought new buyers. Prices are high, but Paris is still one of the least expensive capitals”. And the future ? A fifth agency to open in Auteuil.
