Running four agencies affiliated to the prestigious, international Coldwell Banker network, the professional duo and married couple Marina and Jean-Luc Tonneau propose in Bordeaux, on Cap Ferret, in Le Pyla-sur-Mer and Arcachon, a portfolio of luxury properties in desirable neighbourhoods and legendary villages. Encounter...

For Marina and Jean-Luc Tonneau, the adventure began in 2014 with the launch of a first agency in Le Pyla. A year later, a second branch opened on Cap Ferret. In 2017 and 2018, the two agencies in Bordeaux came into being, one in the city centre, the other in Le Bouscat. “My husband and I manage these agencies together, accompanied by a team with about 30 members loyal to our values,” says Marina Tonneau. “Our strength lies in covering a large, synergetic area : for second residences, Bordeaux functions hand-in-hand with the Bassin d’Arcachon and Cap Ferret. We recently sold a bourgeois house of 350 m2 in Saint-Genès with a garden and pool, priced at 1,250,000 €. On Cap Ferret, we also sold a house of 200 m2, in need of renovation, offering a view of the Bassin and set in grounds of 1,000 m2, for 2,300,000 €.” On the subject of Bordeaux’s property market, she explains : “With the health crisis, there has been a meltdown, though we have nevertheless been able to make a few sales in this period. Bordeaux is a market consisting of year-round homes, and March and April are months in which we usually chalk up 40% of our sales. Due to the crisis, this market has been blocked with most buyers postponing their plans until next year. Since the re-opening on May 11th, we have noticed that demand has evolved : many buyers want to sell their apartments in the town centre to benefit from houses in the countryside, near Bordeaux. In parallel, the market for second residences is flourishing : people long dreaming of a holiday home are taking the plunge, Parisians in particular. As for the future, we will see a drop in sales for 2020 because of the coming economic crisis. Even so, I remain confident : Bordeaux is an attractive city, and real estate is seen more than ever as a safe haven”.
