On the subject of the market, he adds: “It became very active from the end of the first lockdown in 2020 and has become even more lively in 2021. Plans to move here have multiplied, especially on the part of Parisian clients showing strong demand for family homes. As a result of this explosion in demand, stocks have declined and Bordeaux is now suffering from a scarcity of availabilities, especially for family properties in sought-after neighbourhoods near schools and parks. Prices which had stabilized in 2018 took off in 2020 and are still on the rise, particularly in desirable neighbourhoods known for their houses with gardens. Only apartments with no outdoor areas in the city centre are shunned, and seeing their prices stabilize”.
What about the future ? “In the wake of Covid, we have seen many changes in lifestyles and the development of teleworking has been a real game-changer. Provincial towns offering a pleasant way of life are increasingly popular, and I think that the Parisian region will gradually become decentralized.”
