16th arrondissement north, as seen by the Agence Varenne

The northern part of the 16th arrondissement, the most highly-prized, is gaining in popularity and attracting a wealthy international clientele won over by the quality of its property market. This arrondissement abounding in large family apartments is also seeing a gradual return on the part of non-resident French buyers. Update with Hugues de la Morandière, co-founder of the Agence Varenne...

The 16th arrondissement of Paris cannot be approached as a homogeneous whole, but as a series of “islands” or villages, around which it has forged its identity. The northern part, the most sought-after and the most “international”, and the southern part, more residential and family-oriented, as explained by Hugues de la Morandière : “The main asset of the 16th is that of being the largest reservoir of Haussmann apartments, private mansions, and houses with gardens in Paris. Its northern part boasts several neighbourhoods that are very highly-prized. The first, that of Chaillot, is centered around the Place des Etats-Unis. The second, around the Place de Mexico, wins its prestige from its proximity to Trocadéro and its lovely adjacent avenues. The third, the Golden Triangle of La Muette, is on the outskirts of Ranelagh, between Boulevard Henri Martin and La Chaussée Muette. The last one extends from Avenue Foch to Place Victor Hugo. It is in these neighbourhoods that one finds the highest prices, and properties remarkable for their architecture, often enjoying superb views of Parisian landmarks. In terms of prices, we can talk about a bracket ranging from 13,000 to 16,000 per sq.m. Prices which can soar beyond 20,000 € per sq.m for a few outstanding apartments or luxury penthouses. Over the past few months, the property market in the northern part of the 16th arrondissement has been woken up by new clients from Asia, India and the Middle East, and the gradual return of French ex-pats, thinking about coming home to Paris over the short or medium term. Our partnership with the Savills group, a world leader in real estate, gives us access to this privileged clientele which has decided to take an interest in the Parisian market, sometimes at the expense of London”.
