Cheminées Philippe. With “Royaumont”, make way for design. While the hearth is traditional cast iron and steel with a band of glass, this model, with a casing to be made during installation, offers oxidized and varnished cast iron modules edged in stainless steel, with a cherrywood mantel. Of exemplary modernity, it above all focusses on comfort. Its large closed hearth is framed by two bookcase columns and a bench-table, all in wengé. Herick Cheminées. “Quadra” comes in white Charente stone, a material which aims for perfection in combination with the changing hues of a wood fire. Shown here in its mural version, it is also available as a corner hearth. This “fire hole” (set on a pedestal) is lined with an interior frame of black steel and a cast iron hearth. Dominique Imbert designed this fireplace at Norman Foster’s request in 2001. It’s called “Filiofocus Géant”. Since then, other spin-offs have seen the light of day, including “Filiofocus Vitré”. Fitted with four curved pieces of pyroceramic glass (of which two slide on rails) around the hearth, this central model comes in a fixed height. With its elongated door and dual opening system (lateral for easy cleaning and retractable so as to keep the hearth discreetly open), this model from the “In-Situ” range is characterized by its spectacular but unfussy architecture.
