BMW 8 Series Convertible… the luxury sports car
A perfect design with a reassuring look, impressive performance and cutting-edge technology. After the Coupé, the BMW 8 Series Convertible, stylishly replacing the 6 Series, certainly presents a compelling case.
It's a beauty, sporting powerful engines and sophisticated transmission instrumentation, and delivers on its promise of an exciting drive. Fitted with 19" wheel rims and combined RSC tyres, it provides race-track acceleration every time thanks in particular to a precision-adjusted chassis and engine. The choice is a 4.4-litre V8 petrol-driven unit giving 530 HP, or a 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo diesel producing 320 HP. Torque of 750 Nm is a further token of driving pleasure for all car lovers.
The Intelligent Personal Assistant enhances driver safety and comfort. The Display Key lets you open the doors with your smartphone, and even has a wireless recharge system. And the canvas hood, light and easy to work, opens in under 15 seconds even when driving up to 50 kph.
The rear lines are shorter with a sporty look. Room at the back for rear-seat passengers has been reduced, as has the wheelbase. In front, the driver and passenger enjoy what feels and looks like a snug cockpit of wellness. The heating system for the neck means you can take to the road with hair in the wind but without the chill.
On display at the Los Angeles Auto Show, this model should be commercialized in March 2019. From 107,700 € for the 840d xDrive (320 HP), and from 132,750 € for the M850i xDrive and its 530 HP.
