Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet

Driving a great sports car with one’s hair streaming in the wind is everyone’s dream ! Fans of Porsche will be over the moon…

Porsche already had its coupé, it now offers a 2+2 convertible. Which naturally perpetuates the Porsche tradition and retains a classic soft top. A successful blend of a high-performance sports car and an authentic convertible, the 911 Turbo has a soft, sensual silhouette which hardly hides its many capacities. Driven by a 6-cylinder, 3.6-litre Boxer engine (endowed with a biturbo supercharger and turbocompressors with variable geometry), it harnesses 480 hp beneath the hood and, with its manual gearbox, hurtles from zero to 100 km/hr in only four seconds. If you add the automatic Tiptronic S transmission, count only 3.8 seconds. All while remaining reasonable in terms of gas consumption : 12.9 litres per 100 km. Three reasons for that : a lighter structure, excellent aerodynamics and spearhead engine technology. Its top speed is 310 km/hr. Another exploit, the 911 Turbo Cabriolet weighs only 70 kilos more than the coupé, and this despite its bodywork reinforcements and safety rollbars which deploy automatically and are installed behind the rear seats. Its hood, in three thicknesses, opens and closes in a record time of about 20 seconds. Porsche hasn’t spared its efforts in driving security : a regulated chassis to meet the specific needs of a convertible, PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), PSM (Porsche Stability Management), PTM (Porsche Traction Management) and one of the most efficient braking systems on the market today. As an option, the 911 Turbo Cabriolet can also be fitted with the PCCB system (Porsche Ceramic Composite Break), borrowed from competition cars and characterized by exceptional lightness. The car’s rear fin retracts as soon as the car reaches 120 km/hr and, as regards passive security, there’s a reassuring plethora of systems : six standard airbags, anti-rollover protection system (with steel tubes incorporated into the windscreen frame and automatically deployed safety rollbars behind the rear seats). With a rich array of standard features, the Porsche pearl proposes bi-xenon headlights, two-tone 19-inch wheel rims, the PCM system (Porsche Communication Management) incorporating the navigation module and a 5.8-inch screen, not forgetting the Bose Surround Sound System.
