The first in its kind, this model has set high standards with over 170,000 sold in Europe and 1 million worldwide since its release in 2014. 95 % of this version’s components are new, the result of digital modelling combined with the expertise of Takumi master craftsmen.
No connection is required to replenish the batteries of this hybrid which self-charges on the road. More than 50 % of travelling time can be done 100 % electrically without any human intervention. The interior focuses on refinement with the 10.3’’ screen controlling the navigation system.
The second generation of the LSS security system combines the pre-collision process with detection of cyclists and pedestrians, the emergency braking amplifier, maintenance in the traffic lane, automatic activation of main beam headlamps, and dynamic radar cruise control with automatic road sign reading. Another detail, and not the least important : the door handles are fitted with captors for blind spots ; a cyclist or driver pops up and an alarm rings out, with door opening neutralised.
The Link app allows for the car to be locked/unlocked from a distance and the air conditioning system activated to cool or pre-heat the interior. The Lexus NX SUV, expected to hit the road in the autumn of 2021, will be priced from 45,990 €.
