I-Pace, Jaguar’s all-electric SUV

Tagged by the manufacturer as “the world’s most intelligent 5-seater sports car”… Heralded at the Los Angeles Motor Show in late 2016 and presented in its final version this year in Geneva, the clean but sporty I-Pace chalks up impressive performances.

Delivering 400 hp, the I-Pace is propelled by two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors shared out between the front and rear suspensions. Combined with a quasi-perfect weight distribution, they generate 696 Nm of torque. The 90kWh lithium-ion battery gives a range of 480 km on the WLTP cycle, and the continuous current 50 kW DC rapid charger allows the car to achieve up to 270 km per hour. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the vehicle, 4.68 metres long with a wheelbase of 2.99 metres, adapts to drivers’ individual preferences. The new EV navigation system calculates road topology and completes it with the history of previous trips, including the “driving style” component. Top speed is limited to 200 km so as not to reduce the range, and 0 to 100 km takes just 4.8 seconds. The I-Pace benefits from five full seats and generous storage space, 27 litres in the front compartment and over 1,453 litres at the rear, ideal for family travelling. Both elegant and agile, it offers flowing bodywork and aerodynamic design : a short, low hood, a curved roof and rear window. With an interior closer to the codes of a saloon than those of the standard SUV, the impression of spaciousness is very real, just like the focus on high technology. The Touch Duo infotainment system simplifies control of all the vehicle’s connectivity features, starting with the Wi-Fi 4G Hotspot. With zero emissions and a bonus of 6,000 €, fans can place their orders as of now, with an easy conscience about planet Earth.
