Dispatched to Tokyo in 1964 to cover the summer Olympic Games, Raymond Depardon discovered a passion for images of sport and went on to cover five Olympiads, up until the Moscow Games in 1980. These powerful images, like the raised fists of Afro-American athletes in Mexico in 1968, form part of a hitherto unseen scenography comprised of over 130 photographs in black and white.
