In the center of Motta Visconti, just 30 km from Milan and 14 from Pavia, set within a large park with centuries-old trees, lies this historic residence built between the late 1700s and early 1800s atop a much older settlement. In addition to the villa, the complex for sale includes a farmstead, a recently renovated former stable, and the caretaker's house, all set within the park.
The lawn, the centuries-old trees, and the flowering hedges surrounding the villa provide breath and privacy. The residence, a testament to an era, develops over three levels with grand frescoed rooms, one of which features a very original oval layout. All rooms are equipped with fireplaces and have decorated ceilings 4m high.
On the ground floor, the rooms all overlook the park and are preserved in perfect condition with great elegance. The layout of the house is the original one, with the rooms on the ground floor and on the piano nobile containing the study, the piano room, and the first bedrooms. Further bedrooms are located on the upper floors. The large villa, which measures approximately 720 sq m developed over the three levels (an unquantified part of the cellar would also need to be added), is registered as A1 (luxury and prestigious property). A rare characteristic is that it has been maintained by the same family until the present day. The interiors have preserved the original charm of the era. The villa, as well as the park, are under the protection of the Belle Arti e del Paesaggio. The facades were recently restored and the roof was redone.
The large garden, of over one hectare, is a green lung for the town as well, being located right in the center, and has two accesses that provide the possibility of having various parking spaces available.
As mentioned above, part of the complex for sale is a beautiful house – former stable - of approximately 170 sq m, independent, on two levels, recently renovated. Additionally, there is the caretaker's house, which also has access to the garden.
Historically, Motta Visconti was part of the Visconti fiefs, and it is within this elegant context that the Villa is situated.
The town of Motta Visconti is part of the Parco del Ticino, located less than a km from the river, which can be reached via a pleasant walk that continues along the riverbank. There are many riding stables in the area and, less than 5 km away, is the Circolo di Golf Ambrosiano.
The proximity to the city of Milan has been shortened thanks to the new MM blue and green lines. For info and visits contact Eva Sportoletti 3487140913
From the Metropolitan City of Milan website: Limited to the west by the Ticino, bordering Pavese territories such as those of Bereguardo, Gambolò, and Vigevano, the territory of the Municipality of Motta has held the Visconti qualification at least since 1426, due to the branch of the great family that held a fief here for a long time; more anciently, probably until the 1300s, the name of the place was Campese. The parish church of San Giovanni Battista, rebuilt in 1782, is on the site of an early 1400s church commissioned by the Visconti di Cislago, and preserves 17th-century paintings. The oratories of San Rocco (deconsecrated, in which documents are preserved recalling the activity carried out as a teacher in Motta Visconti, between 1888 and 1890, by the writer Ada Negri) and of Sant'Anna are also interesting, as well as the Villa del Majno, villa Properzj Incisa currently for sale.
