12 bedroom luxury House for sale in Guadix, Andalusia

A large house located on Duende Street, near Plaza del Conde Luque. It formerly housed the Guadix Town Hall. The building has undergone significant subdivisions, which have altered its original appearance. It was once part of the same property that adjoins it to the left. Even so, numerous original architectural elements remain identifiable, such as the façade, the staircases, the courtyard structure, the floor slabs, the tower, etc. The two-story house is organized around a quadrangular courtyard with galleries. There is also a second courtyard, likely intended for service areas, and at the rear, a garden area (currently a patio with a private pool, barbecue, and relaxation area). The façade features a lintelled stone doorway supported by two columns with decorated corbels, which now belongs to the adjacent property. Above it is a small projecting balcony, and the façade is crowned by a cornice with wooden corbels. At both ends, there were balconies with three semicircular arches at the front and two on the side. However, the corner balcony corresponding to this plot was demolished, although the projection of its floor plan is still visible on the façade. The façade has also been remodeled, with the opening of new access points for people and a garage, and the addition of a stone plinth that clashes with the rest of the building. History tells us that this house belonged to noble descendants of Ali Abenaxara, leader of the Muslims of Fiñana, who collaborated with the Catholic Monarchs in the surrender and capitulation of this Almerian city (1489), receiving various privileges in return. The following year, he participated in the pacification of the Mudéjar rebellion in Guadix and Fiñana, obtaining various rewards in the distribution of lands in Guadix. These descendants were the Piédrola Narváez family. Later, it passed into the hands of the descendants of the Alarcón family, who moved to Hospital Alley, while Don Luis Alarcón y Ariza purchased the Conde Luque Palace, also known as the Piédrola Narváez Palace. Everything is documented in a book registered in the Carlos Asenjo Library. *The listed price does not include taxes or expenses (7% property transfer tax, notary fees, and property registration fees). Agency fees are not included. The client is entitled to a summary information document for the property. Valid until the exclusivity period ends.
