Sotheby’s Realty Lyon : from a pied-a-terre to a château

Launched in 2010 and managed by Franck Richard du Montellier, Sotheby’s Realty Lyon enjoys a strategic location in the antique-dealers’ neighbourhood. Covering Lyon and Greater Lyon, this agency specializing in prestige real estate offers a wide array of high-end properties. Interview with Fleury Trollion, executive assistant and sales negotiator…

Benefiting from the aura of Sotheby’s International Realty, the N°1 network for prestige properties with over 900 agencies worldwide including 45 in France, Sotheby’s Realty Lyon covers the top end of the region’s property market. “The core of our transactions consists of houses and apartments in Lyon and on nearby communes such as Ecully, Sainte Foy Les Lyon and Les Monts d’Or,” explains Fleury Trollion. “However, for old properties like châteaux or private mansions, we are also active in neighbouring départements such as the Loire, Saône et Loire, L’Isère and La Drôme.” Offering a rather broad range of prices, some of parts of Lyon are highly-prized, with prices climbing to 2.5 million euros in the case of the most prestigious homes : “In Lyon, a house with a view and outdoor area is worth its weight in gold. We are currently handling the sale of a very beautiful house on the hills in the 5th arrondissement, proposed at 2.5 M €. The most sought-after neighbourhoods are the 2nd arrondissement between Place Ampère and Place des Jacobins, the 6th arrondissement, especially streets near the Foch metro station, and also the 3rd arrondissement in the Préfecture area”. Drawing the attention of clients with high purchasing power and rental investors looking for small surface areas, Lyon’s property market is looking very healthy. “Demand is pretty steady, prices are stabilizing and are even slightly on the rise,” concludes Fleury Trollion. “Depending on the property and neighbourhood, one can now expect to pay from 5,000 to 7,000 € per sq. metre to acquire a desirable property.”
