Dark Hours

The latest sign of chic distinction in watchmaking, the trend for darkness is making a big impression. At the “Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie” in Geneva, and as a preamble to the Baselworld show in March, remarkable new timepieces have opted for black.



Presented at Geneva’s “Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie”, the Academia Endless Drive offers original design featuring an endlessly rotating screw as the centerpiece on the dial. About 35.000 €.

The centerpiece of the new “Cartier Libre” collection, this “Baignoire Débordante” is shy of neither generous volumes, nor the sparkle of precious stones (left). More than 100.000 €.

Combining the traditional art of watchmaking, avant-garde materials and mythology, the “Black Squama” symbolizes immortality. Limited edition of 41 pieces. Between 150.000 and 250.000 €.

Dedicated to fans of speed, the new “Excalibur Adventador S” gives a place of honour to carbon and titanium (left). From 210.000 €.

From the “Polaris” collection created just 50 years ago, this “Polaris Memovox” is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces. 12.900 €.
